The emotional fortress
Artillery fire, orders, mighty concrete walls enlivened by human sounds, luminous signals communicating with the near fortifications...
This time nothing is subjected to war, to the working of the death machine aiming for the enemy’s annihilation.
Today the military works are brought back to life, but this time they are enlivened by sounds definitely underlining the choice for peace and life.
All this happens at the Forte Belvedere Gschwent in Lavarone thanks to the project “The emotional Fortress”: interactive multimedia rooms for war architecture in time of peace are part of the initiatives grouped under the title “Trentino. From War to Peace”.
It is a project based on a series of interactive installations aiming to enhance the extraordinary heritage of memories still "guarded" by the fortress and carried out by Studio Azzurro, one of the most important international trustworthy companies in the field of innovative languages and of the relation under culture, arts and new technologies.
The project is based on the idea and on the commitment of a team led by the Tourism Agency of Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna with help from the Departments of Tourism and Culture of the Province of Trento, the Trentino SpA, the three local municipalities and by the Foundation running the fort.
“The animated model”, “The sentries”, “The howitzers of sounds”, “The eyes of light”, “The diaries of the machine-gun nests” and “The Alpine Troops’ angel” are the stages of this multimedia path prepared to voice the memories of the soldiers who had lived and fought in the Belvedere Gschwent.
