Content: The activity includes a guided tour of Fort Belvedere, combined with a hike to the Vaia Dragon. Two places symbolic of Lavarone but also of the destruction that man is capable of causing, even to the detriment of nature. On the one hand through war, which not only brings death and destruction but can also cause changes in the biodiversity of the territories that are affected, just as happened in the Highlands following the Great War. On the other through climate change, which can lead to disastrous consequences: in our area, storm Vaia was a clear example, as a result of which the eponymous dragon was born. The hike also takes us along the “Sentiero dei Camini” (Path of the Chimneys), named after two tall chimneys visible on the path: the only remaining evidence of a logistical structure present during World War I.
The hike will be accompanied by our collaborator Francesca Mor (Occhi In Natura) an environmental-hiking guide.
